Welcome World!

So GooglePlus opened up to the world. Next we need the API and have people like Posterous allow us to post from email.

Hey Google, why don't you implement post via email. It would be a big help, allowing us to post from anywhere.

What is the point of using the +1 button in #GooglePlus if those items don't appear in the +1 section of your Google Plus Profile?

Is that logical? Google needs to rephrase the +1 section "Your +1's appear here. +1 the things around the web you like, agree with, or want to recommend to others."

It should be:

"Your +1's from everywhere except here appear here. +1 the things around the web (except in GooglePlus) you like, agree with, or want to recommend to others."

While you are at it Google. Please give me a link shortener button so I can grab a link to share elsewhere when I publicly post an article, link, etc.

#hcfla HealthCampFlorida.org is tomorrow 7.30.11

The co-founders are on the road to HealthCamp Florida in Tampa via /BWI and SouthWest.

We are looking forward to the walk through at facility sponsor KForce this afternoon and then meeting sponsors for dinner. It will be great to meet the Guidewelll Health team out of Jacksonville and I hear that CEO and twitter nurse of the year Matthew Browning of YourNurseIsOn.com will also be there. So Tampa on Saturday 7.30.11 I the place to be for HealthCamp Florida.

@FDAapps FDA takes position on #mHealth Apps...

@FDAapps FDA takes position on #mHealth Apps. It has been a busy day on the Web for the Feds. A BlueButton Challenge has been laid down to get the #BlueButton on 25,000 Physician web sites. I applaud that move, even if it is causing some debate check out http://challenge.gov/VAi2/198-blue-button-for-all-americans . On the same day the FDA has published information about what it intends to regulate in the world of mHealth Apps. See the info here: http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm263332.htm

The interesting part is that the FDA is proposing to oversee mobile medical apps that:
- Are used as an accessory to an FDA-regulated medical device. For example, an app could enable a health care professional to view medical images on an iPad and make a diagnosis;
- Transform a mobile platform into a regulated medical device. For example, an app that turns a smartphone into an electrocardiography, or ECG, machine to detect abnormal heart rhythms or determine if a patient is experiencing a heart attack.
I think this means that if you connect your FDA-Approved Glucose meter to a mHealth app on a smartphone then the mHealth App will need FDA Approval.

#QS and HealthCa.mp: Last night I attended the Washington DC meetup for Quantified Self. There were plenty of interesting topics. Much of the session provided feedback on the recent San Francisco Quantified Self event. I was able to U-Stream and record the event. The lighting was not great but I think the audio came through.

I was also asked to present at the meeting. I had already posted my deck to SlideShare ( ), which was a good thing because the Mac being used to present from only had version 3.0 of Keynote and so it choked, even when saving the deck as iWork'08.

Since people on GooglePlus had asked if I was going to post my talk We recorded my session separately, since it came after about 90 minutes of other presentations. Yes, I was there to wake everyone up so they could go home! :)

Here is my talk from Ustream: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/16096324
Here are the other Talks: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/16094415

Once again, apologies for the poor quality of the video but hopefully the audio comes across ok.

Thought provoking and compelling advice for any public speaker. Check whether your audience's eyes are shining.

One of my other favorite TED talks. The "one buttock playing" still gets me. I tried "one buttock coding" but it threw my back out.

Nice. Hopefully FB won't go this far because that would be an anti-trust investigation just waiting to happen.
